(Pulled Over by the Cops), and The Toothpick Clique. Heavily influenced by 1980s/90s hip-hop, Chicago rap legends, and eclectic, retro-futuristic sounds. His style, both as a solo artist and in The Cool Kids, blends minimalistic, 808-driven production with themes of fashion, nature, and, in his later work, more abstract, conceptual ideas.

Since the establishment of Hip Hop, the amount of female rappers that have been able to thrive in the mainstream music industry, have been relatively little in comparison to their male counterparts. Women such as Roxanne Shante, MC Lyte, Lil Kim, Queen Latifah, Eve, Trina, Salt-N-Pepa, Monie Love, Da Brat are all recognized and heralded as the earliest pioneers in female rap.
